| If you want a solid, professional, full-featured IDE, PyCharm is pretty much it.
If they specifically said "PyCharm" and not "all JetBrains products," the full IntelliJ IDE with all the Python plugins installed is essentially the same as PyCharm.
Besides PyCharm/IntelliJ, I think you are basically stuck with either Eclipse (ugh), glorified editors (like VS Code or Atom), or beginner-learning-to-program IDEs with minimal features. |

| Some like Microsoft's Visual Studio Code (VSC) as it's free and integrated with stuff well. I'd check it out if I had to quit using PyCharm. |

My employer is a very large defense contractor. Unfortunately for my team, the people who made this decision couldn't care less about the impact to my small team. We came to PyCharm from Eclipse, we'd prefer to not go back. We gave MS VSC a shot last week and weren't overly impressed. We use the free edition of PyCharm, so we don't use all the bells and whistles of the paid version. PyCharm is just so smooth and easy. Ugh, this is such a needless PITA. |
