JALLENQuote for Today
"It's almost an embarrassment being an American citizen traveling around the world and listening to the stupid shit we have to deal with in this country." -- Jamie Dimon, today
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown July 14, 2017, 02:23 PM
RichardCWell, at least, there's a good chance B. Hussein O. has already been there and apologized.

Oh. I thought he was referring to CNN.

sjtillI have some very long-time friends in Australia and South Africa. AFAIK their only access to news about the US is from CNN and magazined like the New Yorker or Atlantic Monthly.
I'm afraid they will not understand why I say I had to vote for Trump, or even worse, how happy I am that he's president!

In 2015, I was on a 2 week tour in Italy with a bunch of Aussies. They were shocked that I had such a low opinion of BHO whereas they had a very high opinion of BHO.
I shared that Australian news made our news about 30 seconds a week, and they admitted the US news was just a blurb on their news. A light bulb went on in half of them when I said I don't have an opinion on Australian politics based on limited information so why do they think their opinion of BHO is based on reality?
Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity

sjtillHere's some further quote from the OP's interview that clarifies his complaint:
quote:
The U.S. has become "one of the most bureaucratic, confusing, litigious societies on the planet" and "it's hurting the average American that we don't have these right policies," he said.
