BS-3595-C401. In Theory, this will be the "seal" verifying that I am an attorney, and when I was licensed/the authority was last contacted, and confirmed it to be active.

I have some fond memories of my grandfather smoking a pipe. He had all the accoutrements. Pipe stand on his desk with a selection of them, a Meerschaum on a special plaque on the wall, a number of Briars he kept at hand. The leather pouch he kept in a shirt pocket, the pocket knife with a pipe scraper. The way he'd bang out the char on the inside bottom of the door frame of the '86 Buick LeSaber in the church parking lot every Sunday before driving my sister, grandmother and I back to the house for lunch. He'd fall asleep in his chair and it would dangle from his jaw, somehow still clenched. The study always smelled faintly of his favorite blends. He smoked a pipe because it was safer than cigarettes. He said the paper was bad for your lungs.

He died of lung cancer at age 63.

Grandfather smoked a pipe several times daily until he passed at 91. In his final years, his index finger would be constantly burned/scarred because he would forget his pipe was still lit while trying to re-pack more tobacco. I can still remember that apple-wood smell.

My grandfather and father smoked pipes. I have tried it. Outside only. At present I have a Kirsten vintage pipe same model my dad smoked just for the memories.

Just got my annual supply of Black Cavendish. I buy a pound every year around late August. I'm a cool/cold weather pipe smoker. I usually come home at night and have a couple of fills between then and bed. (coupla bowls just doesn't sound right} Big Grin

I rotate through several pipes. I have my Dad's Kaywoodie but it is honorably retired.
