LeeannI broke my freaking ankle....at the worst possible time
Now that would be worth killing someone to stop. Yikes.
I think it hurt so much because it was so swollen - it was so tight, there was no movement even with two strong hands. So it was awfully hot and the ice bath was awfully not.
I have bad ankles - and have since high school - but mine are soccer and softball.

goingbrokeNo shit!
You had better use that broken ankle to your advantage!
You will be able to bypass that long ass boat line and get aboard first...
...you can ride the cart everywhere!
Hobble and bobble all over the seas...have fun and enjoy it!

Contrast baths will help immensely to reduce swelling and the pain it causes.
PT recommended it for me when I destroyed my ankle and it helped a lot.
As hot of water as you can stand (without burning yourself) and ice water, alternating every 5 or so minutes several times a day.

CliffEven with that you are a blessed man. Enjoy yourself, take pleasure in the memories you and the family will have. Take a few pics for us to see. Even with the ankle, I'm sure seeing the look on your wife's face as all of you have fun and relax will be icing on top of the ice cream.

Rey HRHGreat attitude. I envy you. Not for the ankle break but for the attitude.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
