Just came across the crawl on Fox News!! At least 28 dogs have been poisoned by SPORTMIX dogfood . No flavor given. Contains AFLATOXIN !!!! Keep those puppies safe.

Made in midwest USA have a plant not too far from me. Nunn Milling has been in business since early 1900's I think.
Hope none of our furry friends were affected.

Just something to also consider, Midwest Foods also makes the Earthborn and Earthborn Holistic brands. Might be a good idea to find something else to feed, at least until Midwest can sort and resolve this issue.

Years ago I delivered corn to a dog food mfg facility. They were pretty particular about quality. They always did an aflatoxin test on each truckload.

Having said that “plugging a load” was a high art form. “Plugging” refers to loading in a manner that hides lesser corn in a load of good corn. Whether deliberate or not, the person doing the probing and testing is to be blamed for it being accepted. I would imagine there are test done later in the process as well.

I remember aspergillus from a show on Animal Planet called Monsters Inside Me. Nasty, nasty shit. Not quite as frightening as the brain-eating amoeba , but still bad.

Was at Rural King this morning and they were rolling two pallets of Sportmix out of the dog food aisle.
