Curse you for linking their page! Always wanted a U1 or Flieger, have zero need for either..... You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

Curious - any reputable used watch websites that certify their dealers and the authenticity of what is being sold?

Websites not so much, but most AD's will give you a better sense of security for their brands. Not absolute, but they have way more skill and incentive to pick up on fakes. Some of the biggees like Jomas may certify, but even that I'd be skeptical as good as some of the fakes are without getting independent eyes on it. Historically one of the most active sites for pre-owned, but also riskiest, has been eBay. I know, I know...... I've bought and sold a few there with decent results. However you have to be careful. eBay, not unaware of the fraud issues, has just recently come up with a very creative way to get a little more comfort that you're getting an authentic watch if purchased there. Time will tell if the folks they use for verifying are really good, but they've got a huge incentive to take away the perception of risk and if they do, it will increase their volume. If they don't, they'll be outed on the watch boards right away. Authenticity Guarantee Speaking of watch boards, those are a good source too if you stick to sellers who have long history, good reputation and are active. I bought a preowned IWC Portuguese from a fellow in NY via Therolexforum.com. Admittedly, wiring that money gave me pause, but he checked all the boxes. Transaction went just fine. He was, interestingly buying another watch (a platinum Patek Perpetual)for which I estimate I ALMOST covered the sales tax! You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

I think Jomashop has a pretty good rep - they sell new and used. https://www.jomashop.com My current wish... https://www.jomashop.com/omega...10-41-21-03-002.html

I have owned a Rolex Explorer but got tired of the cleaning fee. I have also collected vintage Hamilton wrist and Railroad watches. Today, If I were looking for a nice new watch, I would look hard at the Orient mechanicals or the Citizen Eco-drive. This Orient was on my watch winder for almost six months and only gained a minute. Of course the date had to be resynchronized. https://www.longislandwatch.co..._p/ra-ak0405y10a.htm This Orient is a Sun & Moon variant of the 24 hour dial and has a sapphire crystal. https://www.longislandwatch.co...watch_p/et0t004d.htm There are many to choose from in these two brands. Pick one or two to suit you. I also own a Orient Diver which has been very satisfactory. It’s easy to be spoiled by Eco-drive. This one lays out day/date and 24hr, very useful Nice leather strap would dress it up nicely https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod...=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
