Our daughter got a new job a couple months ago in the Seattle area where we live ... moving from her house in Spokane back with us (300 miles one-way).

I have been spending all my time getting her house ready to rent with numerous projects (ie: the water heater thread). As such, I was spending this Father's Day working on her house ( 10 to 12 hour days ... so much for being retired, eh).

Today, just before lunch I see a car drive into the driveway while I was working outside the garage at my daughter's house. My first thought was WTF until I saw my daughter's smiling face laughting at me. My eyes puddled up. Yup, they did and proud of it.

She is here today, tonight ... remotely working from here tomorrow then heaqding home in the early evening.

Dinner tonight is Uber deliver Vietnamese food ... my fav ! And sharing a movie together.

Today will box up fragile stuff for her to bring home in the wife's Subaru Forester.

An amazing Father's Day surprise ! Smile

Hope all your Father's Day are priceless too !

Old dino, good story, thanks for sharing.

How good of you to be doing the work on her home so far from yours.

Vietnamese food and a movie sounds awesome!

My 17 year old son and I spent Fathers Day taking Introductory Pistol and Carbine classes together. Our first such classes, he only in the last year or so has begun to express real interest in shooting, so while this was his gift at Christmas (delayed twice due to Houston weather) it was a great way to spend fathers day.

Thanks ...!

We had pho with everything, banh mi pork sanwiches and spring rolls. Lots of food with leftovers. Movie was The Big Lebowski. Daughter remote worked from here today while I did the quiet projects of painting, electrical and loading up the car with stuff to take back (moving in stages). She left here at 5p and should be home about 9:30p'ish.

HK Ag ... I remember the day my dad took me out to learn to shoot, your son will remember this day too. Great way to spend Father's Day with your son.

Now gonna stop my project work day early and dive into the leftovers. :P
