Yes. I tried to extend it to birth week, but my family wasn't having it. Another year on this side of the dirt is a good thing.

11 of us went out to dinner last evening at the spot I turned 21 57 years ago. We all had a good time and I picked up the check as a gift to myself. Hope to do it again next year as the restaurant will be celebrating their 90th birthday then.

When we happen to be up in the big city on our birthdays or near our birthdays we go to our favorite restaurant.

It's more of a celebration of our time together.
But
It's kinda special

I'm turning 40 this week (how the heck did that happen?!?). I'm working all day, wife is making me my favorite pizza for dinner when I get home, and we're just chilling as a family at home.

I'm celebrating my birthday next Sunday by doing something that gives me pleasure - spending time at a large-scale model train show.

Then we are driving over to Malvern, to stay at the Foley Arms Hotel, an 18th C coaching inn. In spite of the identical name to mine, the place has no connections with my family, who were poor workers of some kind in Cork City in the latter part of the 19th C, and before that, who knows..... ?
