I have stayed in Vegas many times. I have a friend in Vegas who I go and shoot with. I have easily had that many guns in the hotel rooms there. kept them in the rooms because they are safer than keeping them in cars.
I've kept that do not disturb sign on my door sometimes for three to four days at a time. The cleaning people will not enter as long as that sign is on your door.
I have worked in Mandalay (and others like it) numerous times. Due to having expensive camera gear or even a remote edit bay set up in rooms I have hung the sign and left instructions with front desk that no one enters room for XXX days and had no questions asked ever. I think after this that might change

I have yet to hear from any of his neighbors from the Hotel. Guess they are in little rooms answering question from officials. If they were free to talk it would be everywhere. So sad in so many ways.

Fox News reported a half-hour ago or so that the shooter had converted to Islam a while back, and that ISIS is now claiming responsibility. Who knows how substantive that claim is, though; as with anything associated with stories like this, facts and claims are fluid at best. I agree a 64-year-old white guy converting to Islam is not the typical scenario.

No matter the story - I hope beyond hope that the isis claims turn out to not be true - as to my thinking this guy does not fit the demographics of a convert - so what would compel anyone to do an act as heinous as this - pure speculation on my part but coercion? I read they cleared the lady roommate who is out of country - wonder where she is at, what country? Again, all pure speculation on my part. Either way - it definitely is way more than a falling down type event - a guy who just snapped

Counting noses amongst my friends and co-workers, this morning. So far, one ER nurse I know was there. She had people dropping all around her but she didn't get hit.
The people who were working it (I was about an hour away, finishing a call) said that lots of the wounded were brought in by private cars. Strangers just snatched up wounded strangers and drove them to the neartest hospital they could find. Many of them were not equipped for GSW care but they did the best that they could.
This one is going to be hard to get over.

It's being reported that his girlfriend was traveling abroad in Indonesia. In case you guys didn't know, Indonesia is the largest Islamic country in the world, by population. Not saying that the girlfriend is Muslim, or that ISIS isn't lying about taking credit, but also not too far fetched for an old white dude to convert and go radical within a few months.
