it does sound that way, but I think that group (it was actually 5 officers in the stairwell) are the ones identified in the timeline as being there at 10:55

The group interviewed by 60 minutes was identified as the group that breached the door and entered Paddock's room. That group doesn't mention clearing the other 32nd floor rooms before breaching the door.

The dispatcher says "All units on the 32nd floor SWAT has explosive breach. Everyone in the hallway needs to move back. All units need to move back."

The breaching group said they didn't go near windows because SWAT had deployed snipers

They saw wires running from the cart outside Paddock's room and thought that was a booby trap bomb

Saw a blog post a few days ago that said Paddock had registered for the big room (32135) on the 25th Sept, but the adjoining room wasn't available to him until the 28th. (that wasn't an official source)

He seems to have eaten the revolver by his own accord, if not a bit earlier than was necessary (lucky for the victims) given what was actually going on outside his doors.

No conspiracy necessary.

As to the rest, I don't know, but this aspect seems as clear as anything / clearer than most.

That floorpan graphic gives me a headache.

That is a 308 slide fire, NOT 223. The long strings of fire are also way more consistent than a slide fire. The 308 is a bugger to shoot that long and I dont know of a 308 magazine that holds that many for the length of the string of fire in vega$.

So what are you implying? That he had a SAW?

The audio of LV sounded like .308 to me, but I realize audio can be all over the place on tone and whatnot.

I think the results are going to be vary +- RPM, because of many variables of firearms, length, gas pressures, ammo, lube and more.

No, I'm saying that what they say he had, and what I heard sounds different.

It also sounds on some videos that fire was coming from 2 different directions. I know that echos off buildings can cause this, but it needs looking in to doesn't it? It's not a stretch to think their could have been another shooter with him, or somewhere else.

Ive shot 223 slide fire AR. It is not easy to get a consistent string of fire for that long, much less with any accuracy.

A lot of gun people saw and heard the video. Not one said "gee, that sounds just like my slide fire Bushmaster."

I am completely open to the possibility that what he was actually shooting was not equipped with a slide fire at all. I've been skeptical of that, but so far have been hesitant to say so without more information.
