I think the only gambling that has been publicly associated w Paddock is video poker.
There were also a couple of other updates on the investigation in that article:

Ughh. this post takes me back to my Mr Rogers sweater wearing high school geometry teacher telling me that one day geometry would matter.
Trigonometry to be precise.

Yep, I had the same flash back........did not understand a damn thing the High School Teacher said. Later, while in the military, I was taking college classes on base and finally got it from a Math and Physics Instructor who knew he had a bunch of grunts in the class, so he used weapons, bullets, and bombs in all his examples while teaching. Found out at the end of the class, he was a recovering Marine (no such thing as ex Marine) who had been a Sniper during his time in.

parabellumAll this week, we've been told repeatedly that Las Vegas has cameras everywhere, and that would include cameras in the lobby of that hotel, in the elevators and in all the hallways.
What's the big mystery? They have a time stamp for the key card use. Go look at the camera footage from that hallway at that time, or is all this stuff about "cameras everywhere" nothing but a lie?

I am with you on this para. Its all click bait to get you to read thier article. Clicks drive revenue. The police know so either theres a loose end theyre trying to tie up i.e. additional person or he did it on his own or it is what it seems and they are making sure not to miss anything.
Why its taking so long is more of the mystery.

JALLENMaybe they bought their camera system from Costco, where that customer was shot dead a couple of years back with not so much of a frame of video.

parabellumNo, you have to think like a conspiracy theorist. The last thing the second person would be, is a hooker. No, we have to weave an elaborate story about this person. Let's call her "Tanya". She was born in Chechnya but spent years as a freedom fighter in the middle east.
After the death of her husband at the hands of the Russian army, Tanya fled to the United States- Las Vegas specifically, because she was given a good lead on where to buy a bump stock.

smithnsigWhile we are at it, on the 32nd floor of a modern American hotel, smoke wouldn"t set off a fire alarm, it would have set off the fire suppression systems.
Somebody pulled an alarm.

The story is from NBCNews and the source is officials, who are not named.
Why should we put any credence in such stories? Why not regard these as ‘fake news’ unless the facts are attributed to named sources?
No more hiding behind sources who prefer to remain anonymous.

I thought more than 10% of their on duty security guards were armed, too.

Really? So someone smoking in his room is going to set off the suppression system?
Anyway, I think people in the adjoining rooms frantically calling the front desk and 911 to alert them that a maniac was firing off what sounds like automatic gunfire in the room next door tipped them off where he might be more so than the fire alarms, or at least they helped confirm that.

All the rooms I've stayed in had a temperature sensitive frangilbe glass ampule to initiate the water flow.
Causing hundreds of thousands in water damage because a smoke alarm in *one* room was activated would be rather dumb don't you think?

sigspecopsDoes the hotel have a camera in the hallway or not? Everyone that entered that hotel room should be accounted for at all times. There should be no mystery about having help in the hotel. In fact, they should know excactly how he got the guns and ammo in there. Aren’t there cameras at every entrance? Oh wait.. let me guess, someone hacked into the camera system and erased the footage or they substituted something at key moments. It’s all coming together now.

CopefreeLive press conference happening now and someone from the FBI just stepped in to speak and said they've partnered with Clear Channel to plaster "If you know something, say something" all over city billboards along with the number: 1-800-CALLFBI
It's apparent now that these guys aren't finding ANYTHING and are now desperate and scrambling.

Just so we're clear. Smoke doesn't set off fire suppression. Heat does. Lots of it.

Stlhead https://www.amazon.com/Applied...2K7F1YAJA5XY3V2HA845If anyone really cares about the whole line of sight range high angle shooting problem. Great book for long range shooters. It will be of no use to shooters who never leave a square range, or who are not interested in the subject, and it is a little dry, but it is a treat to the long range nerd. Especially his listing of observed BC's, they are worth the price of the book alone.
Now back to the tin foil hats.

I don't know about the pull box, but you're wrong about the smoke head.

guardianangel762Since when is 15° high angle shooting?
Yes there are compensations for shooting high angle but they are not required for 15 degrees on man sized targets at 300 to 450 yards. Every ballistics calculator I've played with is saying there'd be about 3" of aiming low to compensate.
