A witness just stated that at one point he saw a bunch of officers crouched behind a squad car with their weapons pointed at Mandalay Bay while others were tending to an officer who was lying on the ground.
I know an off duty officer was reported as one of the casualties but this was the first report of an active duty officer down.

Based on President Trump's speech, have they established a time line from the first shots fired to the explosive breach?
I watched a few minutes of some news show this morning that had the audio from the radio traffic of SWAT. The team leader was calm and cool telling his units in the hall to back out for the breach.
The President alluded to the fact that from first shots fired to the breach, and if that is correct, there is no telling how many lives were saved.
Sounds like SWAT was on their game, and they saved countless lives by quick thinking and good tactics.

So disgusted and angry! Heart-felt condolences, thoughts, and prayers for all directly or indirectly affected by this heinous act of evil which includes all of us. This is the definition of domestic terrorism. Many acts of heroism and humanity amid the chaos and by those giving blood. The investigation continues and I'm sure will be thorough and revealing.

Wow, that's horrible, and makes little sense.
At least he's dead and the worst part of it is over, but what a tragic mess.
My heart goes out to those affected and their loved ones.

That is an interesting point, I wonder if Shot Show will relocate. Wouldn't surprise me and would probably be understandable.

Those poor folks at the show - you can see the chaos and fear in those Liveleak videos.
And I agree, at least from those videos, the rate of fire sounds auto-ish but slower and more inconsistent than I'd expect.

WHY?
SHOT is locked-in contractually for several more years with Sands CC. No reason a tragedy like this should stunt SHOT or, any other show. Not to mention nobody wants to return to Orlando.
