After finishing Nen's tractor up, the chicken houses had to be cleaned of chicken litter. The fertilizer guy came in with his skip loader and the game was on. He was armed with a Taurus Judge and a hundred shotgun shells. He was like a freaking tank on a nest when they would boil out like roaches in a trailer park microwave. I have literally hours of video to edit from one of the gun mounted cameras as it is, so here is a small preview of what it was like in there. Sweet. That's like a first person shooter. I think Marzy is close to lvling up. Watch out for the boss rat.

CZ452FS with CB longs. They don't cycle well in it, but CCI quiet (700fps) do very well. I pulled the NV scope and put the laser/light/camera rig on it. The quotes of the day were "he's deader than fried chicken", Mexican hat dance them littleuns", "man them boiled out like cockroaches in a trailer park microwave", "boy, you blowed his asshole out through his head". ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Looks like fun but the only way to truly get rid of rats is to starve them out. Make sure there is no food source left for them. Wish I could join the hunt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

Not sure you can get that done around a chicken house....

Nighttime with pellet gun: http://www.wideopenspaces.com/...-pellet-rifle-video/ Neighbors of my daughter cleared a thicket of blackberry bushes. Which resulted in her garage getting filled with rats. After trapping for a few days, she turned her corgis loose. Cleaned out the lot. “ The work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating; the work of creation is slow, laborious and dull.

In high school, we use to go to the Stxxxxxn Dump and shot rats at night. The garbage would be burning in some places and your clothes would smell to high heaven. Fun times but you would have to watch out for skunks. 41

Get a dozen or so of those Victor electronic rat zapping traps (houses) at LOWE's. They walk into it and it zaps them dead.......Shooting them is fun too, but doesn't seem to be putting a big enough dent into them. There must be a TON of them in order for you to see that many during the day. Usually during the day they stay hidden.

I saw the videos of the rat blasting at night. I think a dozen traps emptied twice a day would put a dent into them in addition to the rat blasting. It's insane though how many rats there are!

Many years ago, they torn down a barn off Centreville Road that was about 1/2 mile from my house. Later I noticed a lot of holes around my water garden and I determined it was rats or chipmunks. I set a baited rat trap under a card board box and the next day the trap was gone. So I set another trap and staked it to the ground with trappers wire. The next day there was a large rat that was still alive and I had to kill it with the shovel. Due to the size of the holes, I decided I would get the garden hose and flood them out. There must have been 20 to 30 large rats and they left my yard for someone else's place. 41

Nice. So, one of the unexpected adventures that comes with moving to the MS/LA area is apparently Nutria rats, a breed I'd never heard of. WTH?? You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

DC is starting to use dry ice. Shove it down the hole and cover it good with dirt. The CO2 settles down in the hole and displaces the O2. Rats suffocate. _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. A couple of friends and I used to play "rat patrol" in the early 70's in Northern Michigan at a unofficial dumpsite near town. Even though it was daytime they were active when the site was disturbed. Fun way to spend the afternoon with semiauto 22's and a brick of ammunition. Well fun for us. The rats, probably not so much for them. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A.
