Happy 16th Birthday Finnegn!
Today is Finnegan's 16th birthday.

Finny is pretty darn healthy for a 16 year old. Can't hear anymore and sleeps a lot more, but other than that he is a happy terrier.

We pulled Finny from a high kill shelter in Northern California on the day he was to euthanized for no other reason than they do that. He was less than a year old and we were to hand him off to a rescue group when we found out he had Parvo. The vet wanted $2500 to treat Finny and we would have paid that but we asked if we could treat him at home. Basically he had to be isolated and have liquids/meds administered via IV.

So, after two weeks Finny was deemed healthy and my wife decided he has already found his forever home.

Finnegan is my wife's dog first and foremost and I am his second human, lol. He has been a godsend since Sandy was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She retired right after her diagnosis and is her solace.

I hope to god he keeps going for my wife's sake. And mine.....

This pic from his birthday last year. We don't normally celebrate our dog's birthdays, but we figure at his age it's a good thing

Sixteen years. that's nice for all three of you.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

That’s an amazing life for Finnegan and an awesome story hapevo.

Dogs are incredible creatures and we’re lucky to have them.

It sounds crazy to say that we wouldn’t be near the creatures WE are without them.

Please tell me Finnegan got a steak or something for his birthday?

Nine years to retirement! Just waiting!
