Somehow, no matter how often they "fix" the problem, the Veteran discount never shows on my account at Lowe's; I need a human to press some magic buttons on the register.
Last time I bought something at Lowe's there were no regular checkout lanes with actual humans.
I went to the "Customer Service and Returns" lane, to check out. That works.

Based on my lower intellect, I shop at Walmart weekly. If not, I would starve to death. Walmart kept me alive during Covid. There is one alternative, with lower quality, poor cleaning, higher prices and worse service.
I love Walmart and I use the self checkout each time. Between the wife and I we can scan and bag like a pro. I can get copies of my receipts at Walmert.com. And I can leave the stuff that scanned for a higher price than the one on the shelf.
It is so sad to be as stupid as me.
Would Prevegan help? Is there another pill?
I think the article is bullship.

RightwireThe last time I went to Home Depot, you had no choice. If you wanted to buy something, you had to use self check out. None of the manned check out stations were open.
Yet they had 3-4 people standing there to assist you with self check out. Made no sense to me.

That's similar to how it is around here too. I mean, it makes sense Walmart would dominate the NW Arkansas grocery market, considering Walmart HQ is located here... It's even harder to compete with a massive global corporation in their own backyard.
There's one smaller local grocery chain hanging on by the skin of their teeth, but they have worse quality, pricing, and selection, and survive primarily on having more convenient locations out in the smaller surrounding towns where Walmart has yet to dominate. There's also Aldi, which is a decent option for basic staples but has less selection, with lower quality and similar pricing to Walmart on many things. (Gone are the days of Aldi being signiciantly cheaper than Walmart on many items... Walmart's significantly larger scale allowed them to absorb inflation/supply cost increases better than the smaller Aldi chain.) And there are a couple trendy higher-end stores like Whole Foods, with more esoteric fancy products and significantly higher prices.
So for the average grocery shopper in this area, Walmart effectively has as close to a monopoly on groceries as possible without having an actual monopoly.

Hay2baleSo I just got back from WalMart and I DIDN'T use the self check out. There was a line at the self check out and not at the employee operated check out.
That's my story.
It's not that I am afraid of the WalMart Law, I tell you....But I have never been in jail and at 68 years old I don't want to start now.
