France becomes world’s first country to enshrine abortion rights in constitution
As usual, CNN leaves out a few details...

France becomes world’s first country to enshrine abortion rights in constitution

CNN... Nowhere in this article, NOWHERE, does it mention the fact that they limited it to 14 weeks. Reasonable people can agree to disagree on things, but they should at least tell the whole story...

BUT, believe it or not, the NYT of all places actually mention that:
quote:
Over the past five decades, the law assuring abortion rights has continually been expanded, to the point that it is now considered among the most liberal in Europe. It includes the right to fully funded abortions for women and minors up to the 14th week of pregnancy upon request, with no waiting period or required counseling sessions.

France Enshrines Access to Abortion in Constitution, a Global First

All the articles I'm seeing are leaving out the 14 week part of the change, especially in their headlines. Roll Eyes

So CNN is admitting that it is not a “constitutional right” in the US?

Absolutely nothing has changed in France, at least in regards to the practice of abortion. 14 weeks has been the standard for years now.

I'll add that I think it's disgraceful what France has done. Enshrining the right in a consitution to kill an innocent human life, a baby's life, is abominable.

Maybe the overly welcomed 3rd world immigrants will take advantage of this instead of having 10 kids per wife.

I worded my OP poorly. It was already 14 weeks, but as you noted, it wasn't in their constitution.

Either way, I don't think most Americans know it was and is 14 weeks, especially people on the pro-abortion side who hate America but seemingly love Europe for whatever reasons.
