Favorite Dilbert Comic Strips - Post Em Here!
I thought in honor of Scott Adams, we could all post our favorite Dilbert strips here.

I'll start:

My favorite because it's perfect.

I "gifted" a certain narcissistic asshole an Etch A Sketch in a Dell Laptop (cardboard) box at Cooperate Christmas Party one year.

(was a royal PITA and had zero computer skills and was a GM at our high end resort hotel, so the "IT issues" he had were unbelievable)

He unwrapped it, saw "Dell" smiled, and then opened the box, pulled it out, and looked puzzled and said: "What is this?"

I said from across the room: "It's your new laptop Dan, you just hold it over your head and shake to re-boot it!"

Everyone laughed.

...except Dan.

I don’t know how to post Dilbert strips, but this one’s worthy:

Frame 1: Two space aliens arrive and announce, “We’re here to destroy your civilization.”

Frame 2: An earthling asks them, “What are your pronouns?”

Frame 3: The aliens walk away. One says, “Too late. Somebody beat us to it.”

Serious about crackers.

I've sent a few of these to our lab manager, who is not tech-phobic, but definitely likes to have IT concierge service. Big Grin

I love them all. Back in 1994 or so, we got called into an all hands at US West. The VP on stage demanded to know who was directly supplying Scott with material. 30+ years later, that is still funny.

I had occasion to meet Scott Adams at a Sun Microsystems Services conference in the late 1990s. I truly enjoyed that.

I remember enjoying them well before they were relevant to me. Even more once I got into a corporate job.

As I said in the other thread, I was more of a Far Side fan than a Dilbert fan as the later cartoons seemed to become too acerbic for me.

But I did display both of these strips where ever I worked along with the Far Side cartoon of the genius pushing against a door that said, "Pull." I displayed them in picture frames.

Being that I worked in Supply Chain Management which encompassed purchasing, the second strip did happen to me early in my career. The VP of purchasing had me go to his office to tell me hush hush, we're going to have to decrease volume for the next year so I have to give a heads up to the circuit board manufacturer with whom we had a contract for minimum builds that we won't meet our commitment. As I acknowledged and got up to leave, he seriously added, "Oh, and tell them we need to lower the unit price we pay them.

But both strips resonated with me.

Rest In Peace, Scott Adams.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
