Any of you old guys that might have had one of the Kawasaki triples back in the day might get a kick out of this. Some stupid riding but fun listening to it. There is some neat engineering involved too.(Feel free to embed anyone)

I have owned both a 400 triple and 500 triple Kawasaki . I like the 400 better. Not quite as "peaky" . My 500 had drum brakes on the front.. that was a poor idea !

I had a 250, 500 and 750. All fun to rip through the gears but the 750 was the king.

I had never floated the front wheel at 100mph while shifting into a higher gear before.....the then-new H1 500 was way more than I ever expected. It was enough to make me look for some other way to terrify myself.

Yep, I had a '73 H2 Mach IV that was scary 'effin quick. My first new street bike was a 'zookey X6 250, and even that thing had a hard time keeping the front wheel on the ground.

It's a good thing I got married in '74, or the H2 would have killed me.

I had a 500 when I weighed about 95 lbs.
Damned fast, and nothing like a 2 stroke when it hits that power band and starts pulling.

For anyone who has never ridden a two-stroke, it's like a turbo when it passed the boost lag.

The faster you go, the faster you go.

Like riding an AIM-9, complete with the corkscrew effect if you were not careful.

My stepbrother lost control of his at about 120 when he got a bad case of nose wheel shimmy and tried to ride it out. Got uncommanded ejection, and went head first, tried some of that gymnastic handstand shit, and broke his right hand in several places when his helmeted head came down on his hand. Left quite a bit of hide on the road. He sold his.

I rode mine for about another year until is broke a rod, then I sold it.

In the end, I loved Harley big twins best, but the ZipBang, was still the most exhilarating.

Never owned one but I got to ride a Yamaha 650 turbo and you are right Monkey, when the boost gets in the green its away we go. I also used to have YZ465 for trail riding. I would have preferred an IT but I buy used and the YZ's were way more prevalent. I had a friend I rode with all the time that had the IT465. It turned better in the woods but on the straights the YZ ruled.

I bought a 1976 KZ-900 brand new. It was awesome. Put a Kirker header on it. Fast and fun.

Same same loved that thing.

Dad took it out while I was in school one afternoon. He was pretty startled at the raw power. He still operated under the delusion that his ‘63 Impala SS was fast.

My ‘75 H2 was spooky fast.
It got INSANE with Hooker expansion chamber pipes and rejetted carbs.

That bike is the reason my Guardian Angel filed a restraining order against me and still goes to AA meetings.

Nothing like riding a "2-smoke" when it gets on the pipe. Those things go from sluggish to ludicrous speed in a heartbeat.

Guy I went to high school with had the 500 with triple Bassanni pipes. He'd had some port work done. When that thing got on the pipe, it was downright scary.

My brother got a KZ1000 while I had my 900. He put the header on his bike too and the previous owner had smooth bore carbs (?). It would eat my 900 for lunch.
