New York governor legalizes human composting after death
All the really hip and cool people in all the truly progressive states want this, so it won't be long until it is mandatory. Of course, the people receiving government franchises to provide the service will be very well connected politically.

Put me in the back of a pickup with the tailgate down, run it around the backroads, and where I fall out is where I lie. Spend the money you would have spent on a funeral and burial on something useful or fun. Spending money on my earthly remains is just a sad waste at that point.
