Big Announcement from HHS on Pre-Authorization Breakthrough That Will Positively Affect 75% of Insured Americans
You can get the gist of this in 20 minutes or less. Dr. Mehmet Oz, CMS Administrator opens the announcement and is probably worth listening to. An actor who is battling ALS follows, and then RFK Jr.

I'll believe it when I see it actually happen.

This needs to end, I've been on a script for 4 years, same doctor, same pharmacy, same script, same insurance company, and every year they deny a refill annually and demand the doctor submit a prior-authorization,
For medication that he's prescribed for years and they have paid for several years.
It's all an attempt to find a way to reduce claim payments.

The best advice I saw was “request the info of the doctor who denied the pre-authorization, to ensure he has the correct specialization, and is licensed in the state.”
The article claimed they almost always fold, rather than admit they have “doctors” practicing outside of their specialty, and it’s almost guaranteed that they have doctors outside of their specialty making medical decisions.
