For the past two weeks I've been upgrading the laundry room. This all started with one new appliance that didn't fit where she wanted it. By the time it was over, I ripped out the old floor and set new travertine tile, mounted the new appliance to it's stainless table and installed a sink, hauled out our old washer and dryer and installed a new stacked set and upgraded the lights to new LED super-bright nuclear flash grade units. It has been a journey, but just now she got to use her new stuff. I monitored the cycles to be sure it all ran as it should with no leaks and no wobbling. She was super happy to be the first to use everything. After I cleaned everything up she came over, gave me a loooong hug and a big grin. She told me I should reward myself with a new gun. To which I responded I already had a month ago. Big Grin

Happy wife, happy life.

Did you buy a stainless Harvest Right? That would look nice on a stainless table.

Yep. It does look great. The new washer and dryer are kind of a darker stainless. Looks pretty cool. Believe it or not, we've been married for decades and this is our first new washer and dryer. Is that wrong? Big Grin

Funny thing she did. She literally stood there and watched the first load through its entire cycle...lol. I watched for the first bit and during the spin cycles to be sure I did everything right. But she actually watched through the window and took video to send her sisters. hahahaha. I stood around for the inaugural dryer start up and first 5 mins. because I had to make my own cable and terminals and wanted to be certain I wasn't frying anything. Since we moved the dryer to where the washer was, I needed a 10ft. power cable. Well no one had one so I made my own. Had to modify some copper terminals to fasten to the dryer tabs. Since the cable I used was 10ga hard wire rather than braided, connections were stiff and space was tight. Got it done right, but I stood and watched to be certain. Did smell a heat smell for a minute, but I guessed that was from elements in the dryer.

All is well at the DF home tonight.....except for the badly played gun hand. D'oh! Frown

You told the truth, didn't get into trouble for what you had already done, your wife is happy...don't worry about the extra gun.

As for the HR, did you get the biggest one? I've been thinking about it, but I've read some reviews which said it was too loud for inside the house. They've been coming done a lot lately. The recent sale where the stainless model was the same as the colors got my attention.

We got the medium size one. The pump is loud but they have an oil-less pump that is real quiet and doesn't need the maintenance of the oil lubed pump.

No pics yet. Big Grin

If you think she's happy now wait until she gets to play with Rotndad's Balls. Big Grin

Watch for the mail. There's a nearly 8 pound of ball bearings in a box, in a box, INCOMING to you. It took longer than expected to build up a respectable supply and I apologies for that. You should get it today or Monday.

In the box are "regular" ball bearings AND a few ball bearings from CV Axles. The CV bearings are about the size of a pinball machine pinball.

Is it true the oil-less pump option costs on the order of $1600?

Give it time. They are new. Like the freeze dryers themselves they'll come down significantly. I haven't had time to look into this yet but it is just a vacuum pump that is controlled by the freeze dryer. HR may not be the only source for them.
