As usual, there's a lot of very confidently stated wrong information in this thread. And there is a little correct information.
Regardless of state law, federal law requires that private sales between unlicensed persons must be between residents of the same state. While you don't have to do any background checks, you cannot knowingly sell to a prohibited person. But there is no "knowingly" language regarding residency. If you sell to a resident of a different state than you, you have committed a federal felony with a maximum penalty of 10 years. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU KNEW OR NOT!
Your first two sentences are a little harsh, no? I made the same two points and there's been several posts discussing how to determine where the buyer resides.

If I sell private party I will get a drivers license (Florida) and write a bill of sale. I won’t require a ccw as I feel that would be a bit hypocritical since I don’t have one. I may just see what Shooters World offers me to avoid the hassle.

Just a note on CCW - Even if you live in a 'Constitutional Carry' State it is still worth getting your CCW Permit, which you'll need for reciprocity in other states where your permit is honored.
Further there are sometimes weird exclusions/prohibited areas where you cannot carry without a CCW permit. As an example, even though Maine has Constitutional Carry you cannot carry concealed in Arcadia National Park or any State Park without a CCW Permit.
NH has had Constitutional Carry since 2017 and next month I will be renewing my CCW Permit (NH Pistol/Revolver License) for the 2nd time since that law was passed...NH has reciprocity w/ Florida!![]()
Without a carry permit, there is a minimum three business day waiting period if you buy a firearm from a dealer*. If you have a permit, the waiting period is eliminated.quote:Originally posted by frayedends:
I may get my Florida permit ... I haven't had an immediate need. But it is on my list. Been here almost a year now so time to get my shit in gear.
