Finally. Goodbye CA
Howdy,

Welcome to Texas.

Wife and I escaped from Hawaii last year.

Be sure to enroll in the Escape Karma mentioned above.

Texas is a LOT better than Hawaii except for the snow last week.

Would love to meet other Sig Forum members in Hill Country.

Lots of land here where you can have your own shooting range.

When you order your new gun safe, make sure it's Big enough to hold what you didn't think you were going to get......

Welcome to Texas! We need more pro2A, common sense American immigrants like you to come here. There are a lot of socialists from blue states and illegals from God knows where who arrive here thinking they are going to turn Texas into the hellholes they come from. Glad you are here to help us fight them.

So you're leaving California for LA lite?

Congrats on your escape. Travel safe on your way out.

My bro has been in TX near San Antonio for about 12 years. Once a week he calls me and asks when I’m leaving CA. It’s getting close after this last round of gun laws and tax increases. Getting real close to breaking this camels back. The good news is houses in my zip code only go one direction in value and my pay at work keeps going up. If and when I do sell out at least I’ll have some cash to bring with me. There are several other red states up for discussion to escape to as well. But TX is in the top 5

Not all of DFW is Liberal, and even the Liberals here would seem like die-hard Fascists to most Californians. I think they'll be fine.

If you ever get a lonely feeling for California, just visit Austin.

Congratulations on your escape! This state is so far down the rabbit hole, there is no hope I'm afraid.

^This right here. When Texans describe certain areas as liberal or Left-leaning, they mean relatively speaking. Tons of Californians invading TX are shocked to learn that the liberal TX areas they heard about aren't nearly as liberal as they're used to.

For instance, in Austin, I know a lot of ppl who define themselves as liberal. They may be openly gay, complain about climate change, vote Democrat, etc, BUT they also own guns and will not give them up willingly.

Arrived here yesterday, off loaded my wife's car from the trailer, unloaded and moved our stuff into our apartment. We are currently located in Grapevine, a great town. We have a short term lease though, we will buy a house in Southlake/Keller. In fact, got together with our realtor this morning to look at a house.

Our place is a mess, but our storage unit from an earlier cargo run is even messier; spent a couple of hours today organizing it, particularly the ammo stockpile. Need a week to organize things in both places. Internet guy came by today, finally my desktop is online.

Thanks for all of the kind posts. 12131, too generous for words. It is absolutely amazing the feeling we get from the move; we are giddy, excited, much happier and a lot less stress in our lives. We love it here. A huge burden was lifted from our shoulders. We are finally home.

If we didn't have kids and a granddaughter on the way, we would be looking to leave also.

Congratulations Oddball!

I'm born and raised in So-Cal, turn 40 in April and reaching the end of my patience here but am just starting to formulate my exit strategy.

If you're hungry check out El Taco H, Peace Burger, and Baja Grill in Grapevine, they're located side by side, you can't go wrong with any of them.

Any of them big enough for a DFW Meet & Greet?
