I'm currently in Commiefornia on business. While it's gorgeous geographically, I can't help but sense the impending doom facing Californians. "Building their own funeral pyre" is how I've heard it described.

There must be some kind of hypnosis, or mass hallucination that overcomes the populace here, who seem to believe that anything is acceptable as long as they get to live in "paradise." Not realizing that paradise is going the way of mudslides, wildfires and foreign invasion.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Great. Glad you're gone from that quagmire. Texas is great. Moved there five years ago Houston area (that's bad now, sanctuary city, etc) but now in the great sister state of TENNESSEE. Fantastic here. Firearms and freedom galore. Heck, I even have my own backstop shooting range in my backyard. Tell my fellow Texan forum members hello. Y'all come visit here.

Congratulations! Welcome to the FREE World.

I did the New Jersey, to Montana move way back in 1979. I have ZERO regrets.

Best of Luck.

Congratulations- We made the exit 4 years ago, and while we really miss the ocean/weather, I could not stand the politics or all of the idiots I was surrounded by in my neighborhood.

Better get out before California levies on you a "Leave state tax".

California is like a really bad marriage - you do not know just how bad and abusive it is, regardless of what others tell you, until you are out of it.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

IIRC California levied a state income tax on those who earned money while living in CA, but retired and moved out of CA, until SCOTUS said no.

Congrats on your move to a free state! I was born and raised in NW Montana but lived in Seattle for 18 years. Liberals, lesbians and losers from coastal states to the south were flooding the Puget Sound region in the mid 90's. I scooped up the family and returned to my home state. Living here in the Capitol city, the same brain dead types are again filling the voting rolls. You know, those 'let's import as many uneducated, disease packin', anti Christian religious zealots as possible so we can feel special" types. Arrrgggghhhh.

Adios. I'll be behind you after a couple of more years.

We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." And how are they going to collect?
