I live in Argentina. The economy is a mess and the rulers think of Venezuela as the way of the future….
Imports and spending hard currency is a big no-no, kind of punishable.
As a result, there are no AV receivers in the market, sold out back in 2019. None, nada.

Want to replace my 20 YO Yamaha and plan for a 7.1. Been a Yamaha fan since the mid 80s but i have no clue what or when there will be a new stock of anything and want to be ready to pick at soonest whatever arrives before it vanishes for another year or so. If needed, will buy a decent AV until what i really want shows up but it could take years.
I chose the Yamaha RX-V6A after reading one thread but it was already sold out down here. Looking now for something similar or better with no HDMI 2.1 issues.

Yamaha, Pioneer, or Marantz
Which ever checks the most boxes to what I need and has the best price.
All solid players that have been in the game for a long time.
I have never killed any of these. Still have a Pioneer that is from the 70s and sounds great. I have a short in the volume knob I need to get fixed though so it does not crack when I adjust the volume with the knob.

I wouldn't say it it the epitome of audiophile quality but Yamaha certainly is a great bang for the buck.
Also Onkyo (I think they are worldwide but Onkyo USA has pulled up stakes) maybe something in a good closeout can be had.
Of course Pioneer and Marantz but I still like the Yamaha the best.

My most recent receivers have been(in this order)

Onkyo
Onkyo
Yamaha
Denon

No real issues with any other than slight disappointment with the display on 1st onkyo...part of it went out long before I thought it should.

If I had to go buy another receiver(price being an issue), I would look at Yamaha and Denon and go with the features/best price...got a great deal on a new but older model on the denon..pays to look around.

What makes you say that about Onkyo?
They still appear to be going along.

I prefer upper end of the Integra line. For receivers, I like the way it sounds for music and it's decent for home theater. However, it can be pricey and is subject to reliability issues related to over heating (which I've been avoiding using quiet, USB after market fans to help cool the units).

I'm interested in Denon and Marantz since the Integra offerings seems to be shrinking over time.

Yamaha in my experience are good for home theater but they've been a little lacking for music (rock probably okay but lacking for jazz and classical and vocals). However, also in my experience, they are very reliable and have lasted for years and years. I've never had one die on me.

What I've done is get used Integra's that will fail before a Yamaha would. But I'm okay w/ that when paying used prices.

In your situation, seems like you should prioritize reliability and product life a little more than musicality if that's even a preference. If it's just home theater, then likely any of the brands will be sufficiently decent.

Denton/Marantz for their room correction.

Yamaha also very good. I’ve had a Yamaha for several years now and very satisfied. That said, YPAO is not quite as good as Audyssey.

I just bought a Denon to go with my Klipsch system. I hate the remote. Everything else about it I like.

One can keep things separate and go with a preamp, tuner and amp of course. After gifting my Denon receiver to my teenage daughter, I purchased both a preamp and stereo tuner from Adcom.

All the above, from what I've read.

Damn…and here I am still hanging onto my old Carver amps and tuners… Roll Eyes

Actually use Sony as I’ve been happy with their longevity and, from my experience, quality.

I have had many AV receivers over my life and my current Marantz is the best I have ever had. It is very technologically up to date and works flawlessly with my equipment.

I’m headed the opposite way. Back in my stereo and vinyl days my set had over a dozen pieces of equipment between amp, pre, decks, sound processors, etc.
What i never really cared for was the receiver part as i don’ t listen to radio.

I've a Denon and Marantz. The Denon is relatively ancient but continues to shoulder on in a more limited role. It now works as an audio-only surround-sound receiver because of its pre-HDMI connectivity. A Marantz took over the job and has done quite well even though its factory remote was a cheap and short-lived piece of garbage, not consummate for the relative price of the receiver. I liked the Denon a bit better for its sonic signature and slightly easier user interface though the Marantz isn't bad sounding either.

There are very few AV receivers that also play music at an audiophile level exceptionally well
