Looks like it. There's a clearly defined walkway on the bridge and the driver was said to have driven the length of the bridge over on the walkway.

Looks like a policeman was stabbed. Gunshots may have been from the police.

TWO incidents - the bridge 'ramming' - with at least eight people injured, and then running up on the sidewalk adjacent to the HoP 'gardens, where a darkly-dressed 'asian' stabbed a police officer and then got shot.

Just watching it on the news here and to say that it is all VERY disconnected report-wise would be an understatement.

I have a proposal for dealing with these terrorists. If they are caught alive, they have a last bacon meal force fed and then are fed to the pigs like in Hannibal. Seriously though, are we in the minority in this country that feels like the gloves should have come off long ago.

I believe in the UK, "asian" can also refer to pakistani/indian...highly unlikely "indian" in this case

Not all, just certain officers, and outside certain areas they are required to keep them in their cars. Though I do wonder with increasing numbers of acts of terrorism if they will go for more officers armed and carrying guns.

At this point what is most noticeable to me is that in all of the pics posted so far, the police presence seems somewhat tame. I've seen only one noticeably armed officer, and he appeared dressed like the tactical guys used to dress in the TV show SWAT.

Had this happened in the U.S., there would be more cops than bystanders, and they would mostly look liked they just walked off the set of the latest Navy SEAL movie and brought the weapons with them.

Personal opinion, but the Brit's reaction is more calming.

The officer involved is most probably Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection (PaDP) is a branch of the Protection Command within the Specialist Operations directorate of London's Metropolitan Police Service. Due to its responsibilities, PaDP is an armed command with most of its officers being "Authorised Firearms Officers".
