"meek" would be better replaced by "stoic", for the root idea of stoicism being know by the traits of wisdom, justice, courage, and moderation.
Reading the Big Book that some eschew, you will find that the passages where "meek/meekness" are written, the whole of those passages are defining the attributes using the very same wording; wisdom, justice, courage, and moderation.
Meek is not weak, it is strength, to stand and deal with all that come, knowing that live or die, often nothing you can do, but rise up against injustice, with boldness and courage, using wisdom and moderate in the response to such things.
Instead, we see the opposite of that, which some foolish see as "strong", in your face, lacking all four (and more) if the traits, so they bully, overbear, focus on their own "win" for ego or selfish pride, and do so because deep inside they are fearful and unsure.
And many "tribal" types, living off the land, taking life as it comes are "meek" and very likely to survive after all the "strong" have destroyed themselves, and their "civil" society's.
