Or stop using the tax code as your personal playground and pretending like their is nothing you can do about it. Take a salary instead of the tax favored compensation package that you are paid under. You take your annual compensation in a way to minimize your tax bill. Smart? Yep, problem is no one else has the ability to structure their income in this manner. I was involved in finance in Seattle for a long time, longer than Gates was a billionaire, and I don't know Gates, but I worked with some of the people that worked for people that reported to people that talked to Gates. I just offer that as modest (very) support for a couple of opinions. Gates has so much money that it is literally uncountable. so many interests that the accoounting bills undoubtedly run into the millions of dollars. The number one thing on my to do list is to get the oil changed in the F150 and see why that little orange light is flickering. The number one think on Billy's to-do is to eliminate communicable diseases within his life time. See where I'm going here? I've never met the guy but there is no way in hell that he is in touch with what you and I think about anything. Anything. And his opinions about social issues, of which taxes are one, should be treated that way, that is that he is clueless in a very profound kind of way. There have been some guys on here, the forum that is, that have had some insight into his security operations and staff in the past. If they chip in the picture is even plainer. Gates could live on Mars and be closer in touch with what a guy packing his own lunch for work can, can't, will, won't, or likes to do. _______________________ | |||

Gee, I wonder how much of his income is actually taxable... Then again, he probably has so much money that he wouldn't care if he paid more. Not like paying more would put him to the streets.
