Well this afternoon I was hankering for fast food not wanting to cook. Not something I do very often at all. Had it down to three choices: --Culver's for a Deluxe double w/cheddar + fried cheese curds --Taco John's Cinco de Mayo soft taco special (5 for $5.50) --Arby's Greek Gyro special (2 for $6.00)
Closest was Arby's and comments online were quite good for the gyro. So off I went. Ordered with extra tzatziki sauce and splurged on an orange cream shake. Got home and was quite surprised by the amount of meat. No one would need to request double meat. FWIW this Arby's franchise is very well run and exceptionally clean. The clerk even came out from behind the counter to open the doors for me as I left (I walk with a cane). As for taste not bad at all. The onions, tomato, lettuce, meat, and sauce on the soft flatbread was better than expected and very filling. Now I've had authentic gyros and this is not it, but what it is is tasty and for $3 a pop a decent fast food option. I could have done much much worse. Put the second in the fridge for later.

Not my usual "go-to" place, but they make a not-half-bad imitation of a gyro sandwich.

I like Arby's sammiches.

Neither seem very Hawaiian or at least what I ate during my 7 trips to Hawaii. Pulled pork would be more Hawaiian than "brisket."

Here's a question for some of you older folks like me. Am I dreaming here, or did Arby's have a roast beef sandwich with coleslaw on it, topped with a slice of swiss cheese, called the Swiss Miss, or something similar? I'm talking like 45 years ago!

Arbys makes a decent sandwich... but damn, don't call it a Reuben if you don't grill the damn bread!

I guess anything can be Hawaiian if you use King's Hawaiian bread.

I like the spicy three pepper sauce.
