I think I went to the academy with a guy from Zionsville, but I don't remember his name. I know that doesn't help. I'm about 2 hours from there, so if it's something that someone with general Indiana law enforcement knowledge can help with, shoot me an email. I'm afraid I don't know anything about Zionsville specifically, though.

Hopefully when you find your point of contact, the answer you get isn’t, “We’ll have to get together for a beer one of these days and talk about <Joe Blow>.”*

*A friend who was Director of Operations and Chief Pilot for a commuter airline said that with calls for references, he and the counterparts he spoke with never gave a negative reference out of concern for liability. If he could give an honest positive reference, he did. If he couldn’t, he used the above phase, the guy (or gal) on the other end of the line got the message, and nothing further was said.
