doublesharpDoes anyone here eat Mallo Cups?
there used to be a vanilla version called Smoothies that a local high school lunch spot vending machine stocked. I loved them and saved the coupon coins but I don't recall redeeming any.

MicropterusThere is actually a Science Channel episode of "How It's Made" that features Mallow Cups. One of the quality checks is that the marshmallow forms a string (like melted cheese) when you break it open.

Pizza BobUsed to love their Smoothie cups. Grew up about 60 miles from Boyer's location, so it was common to see them in any and all the local grocery / convenience stores. IIRC, 1000 cents used to get you 10 cups of your choice (PB, Mallo or Smoothie). Hidden away in a drawer somewhere I think I still have 1000 cents on cellophane tape (how they used to tell you to send them in). This thread is a walk down memory lane.
Adios,
Pizza Bob

kaschiLove those things! Grew up on them being from within 45 minutes from Altoona. As a kid I used to collect the cardboard coins and get some free ones. When they said "allow 6-8" weeks for delivery", they meant it! Man, 6-8 weeks is a long time when you're in elementary school. Boyer has not kept up with inflation so it's not really worth collecting and sending in the coins anymore. LOL
BTW, Boyer also makes other candy products. Besides Mallo Cups, my favorite is their Peanut Butter Cups. They beat Reese's Peanut Butter Cups hands down as far as I'm concerned.

KuisisThey are made about 90 miles east of Pittsburgh in Altoona PA. I'm guessing mostly eastern United States. They've always been available around the Pittsburgh area.

tartan427I loved them as a kid -- until I decided that I was going to get enough of the coins to get a free case of them. I ate so many Mallow cups and got so sick of them that I never did use the coins to get the free ones!

matthew03Not the Mallo Cups, but their sister brand Smoothies are one of my favorites, butterscotch/peanut butter cups.
