Barry Johnson

Barry did two tours in Vietnam flying F-100 super sabers. I remember him always being mentioned in family prayers. He took me camping and fishing ( shooting was always involved ) in Montana many times. How cool was that for a dumb ass kid getting to camp, fish, and shoot with a fighter pilot? Even though I'm 60+ years old I still miss the guy.

Edit: Shoot, after reading his flight info in the link, he did three Vietnam tours, the last flying F4s. I had forgotten about that. That was a pretty big mistake for someone that meant so much to me. Sorry about that Barry.

My Father in law may have serviced his ejection seat! He passed three years ago, not sure exactly when and where he was, but I know he maintained ejection seats on F-100's

Hero worship is not wrong when the recipient is a hero. So glad you had those experiences with your cousin.

I love these stories. I think this is how patriots prepare the next generation of heroes....
