I imagine it would nearly impossible to keep the dust and humidity out of that compartment. Not the best of environments to be storing a weapon (that you care about).

I have a compartment on my boat that holds my Remington TAC14 perfectly, so I thought that I'd just store it there permanent like. Within two weeks, the entire gun was covered in rust. Took forever to get it cleaned up.

Correct. This doesn't outlaw doing this to carry a legal firearm, just a controlled substance.

One thing I think is neat about the Rivian. It's got the equipment pass through behind the cab. Always thought it would be a great place for rifles on a range trip day.

Cool stuff, best be a really well sealed unit, with all the road spray on wet roads, snow, dirt and dust.

Wonder if those side compartments on the Ram 1500 will hold a full size AR

I had a '65 Ford Falcon that had a very non obvious compartment from the factory just under the dash.

Kept a handgun in there for years.

My 67 Mustang had a large hallow center hub on the steering wheel that would pull off. It was a good place to hide weed . That's what I was told ..

Why?

Follow your disclosure laws, if they apply, and this is no big deal. How is this any different than storing a firearm in a locked case in a trunk out of reach?

Yes they will. And not just one per side. And mine have never leaked.

Not sure I'd want a precision rifle mounded in a truck like that.
