There are a number of threads on this subject going back as far as 2017. Recommendations are consistent.

We use an Oxo for most stuff but also a Mainstays (WallyWorld) Safe Cut (knock off of a brand I can't recall) for those times when we want to only use part of the can's contents and be able to safely reseal it with the opened no-sharp-edges top. Smile

I just purchased two of the EZ Duz It openers because I will always take the made in USA alternative whenever possible. This reminded me I needed some decent poultry and meat shears which sent me on a hunt for made in USA poultry shears and I found these. They even make left handed ones for us usually discriminated against lefties! Can't wait to spatchcock my first yard bird!

I love it, and I'd like to have a couple more.

Another happy Pampered Chef user.
We have been using one for about 5 years now and it still works just as good as the day we bought it.

Glad somebody mentioned the OXO,,, I got turned onto one of these a few years ago.... they are a little hard to get used to and set on the can but it is really cool how they cut the top off nice and smooth.

That's what we have and it's the best can opener I've had. But I do have a 50 year old P-38 for backup

Edmund Commercial. All the rest just wish to ascend to this level of can opening. A little over $100 and your can opening issues will be solved for life. These work great. Mounts to garage workbench nicely.
Never fails, opens cans, designed for more use than you can give it.
MADE IN THE USA. Smile

Had one of those in our firehouse. They worked great.

Growing up we had a Rival Can-O-Mat mounted on the wall. I can't remember ever having a problem with it. I don't think anyone makes anything like it any more.

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. I went with the EZ-DUZ-IT can opener.
Wow I just got it today and it is great. It is like night and day from what I had been using.
Once again Thank You

Really?

I used one a few times and thought it was awful. Kept waiting for my hand to slip and get the shit cut/gouged out of it with those sharp ass edges on the finger crank.

Search “USA can opener” on amazon. Good quality and no plastic parts in the mechanism.

I probably open 8-12 cans a week on average, so it has seen fair use.

No signs of stopping any time soon.

I like that it pops the seal instead of cutting the can. Less of a sharp edge. Easy to use, and been reliable for over 5 years now. Looks like it is $35 with free shipping.

Just a bump.

Went with the above Hamilton Beach model. Only used it 3 times, does the job. No Sharp Edges anywhere.

My wife needed something easy to use and easy on her hands.

From an earlier thread, we have the same on as AKSuperDually the Hamilton Beach electric.

Going strong from January 2019.
