Someone posted in another thread about a gun store ad no gun classes for liberals and Muslims. People were cheering it on.

I wanted to put it in a different context.

I am just wondering how amused people here would have been cheering if he had said, No White Christians need attend.

Trump supporters are banned from my store as they are too stupid to safely carry guns.

Maybe I am becoming humorless with Covid and lockdown. Maybe I have been reading too much history.

I think he was serious in his beliefs, even if he lacked the balls and or a way to identify liberals and Muslims.

Those who don't study history are dammed to repeat it.

If he said no blacks, it would hit the fan.

I will take anyone to the gun range unless I think they are dangerous or a felon.

I think his type of crap is the stuff tearing apart this county.

I watched in disgust as conservative were chased out of DC restaurants.

If we managed to get more liberals at the gun range they would help keep the gun grabbers out of office.

I think all terrorist should be hung in the public square right after trial.

I think all legal residents of this county should be able to carry without a permit.

I am not sure why this set me off.
Maybe the feeling I could be next.

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me - Martin Niemoeller

So I am speaking out.

You obviously haven’t been paying attention to current events in this country. Or you have a bad case of myopia.

Liberals have been dividing this country for YEARS. We’ve tried playing nice. That hasn’t worked. Time to fight fire with fire, as they say.

Replied at first not understanding what you were saying, hopefully I deleted before you saw it.

I would never ban liberals, Muslims, or any other groups of people from my business. If you do that, I'm probably not willing to shop at your business or be your friend.

If someone wants to fight on my side for 2A or shoot a match with me, I don't care if they where a hijab/scarf over their heads as long as they aren't fanatics and I hope for those wearing pussy hats that I can sway them enough to be on our side for 2A if not for bigger issues of freedom and small government.

I've always tried to kill assholes with kindness, I feel it works better than a confrontational approach. I'd suggest the same with people with different philosophies. Way more likely honey will work over vinegar.

Some of my best students AND repeat customers for basic pistol 101 lessons, were until VERY recently leftists/socialists.

What changed their mind? Being attacked/victimized by the fellow travellers of their former voting base. They are now VOCIFEROUSLY Pro gun and Pro 2A.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think that every one of the antis that we convert is a plus. Its not like anyone is helping us train or build interest in firearms in younger people. To the contrary, they are taught "guns - bad" at an early age by the "education" system.

We have to do what we can. And simply writing off people we don't agree with or see as allies, is a mistake IMO. Recruit them instead. Regards 18DAI

I don't have a well formed position yet.

However, pragmatically identifying those he would wish to exclude aside, I would agree in concept with not wanting to train, say antifa or terrorists or others who would use the training against us.

With current events this is considered acceptable, so the comment is a bit silly and tone deaf.
I don’t condone any sort of discrimination, however society is a bit blind to discrimination when directed toward white Christian males.

As stated by some already, liberals are forcing the issue of choosing sides. Some are ready to oblige their request.

With that said, he is pandering to his customer base with a sentiment that most share and one that will almost surely never be tested based on his location. Most any liberal or Muslim will pass a dozen other firearms training locations before getting out to the middle of nowhere.

I have to say, I no longer care who allows what, who they don’t like, who they like, etc.

I can only control my decisions. I can only control my spending.

I no longer care.

I ran a booth at a gun show for our range a few years back. We were approached by an Iraqi that I saw get shunned and belittled at nearby tables.

We chatted for a bit, he took an application, and returned it filled out and paid his membership dues in full on the spot.

He had been an interpreter for the US and was granted asylum, then gained his citizenship as soon a possible.

He has been our biggest 2A supporter in the club, knowing full well what living under a dictator is like.

I have less tolerance for liberals, but I find many so-called liberals are actually JFK democrats (more Republican by modern day standards). They just can't seem to get past the "R" on the ballot.

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

Liberals are always going to vote liberal.

Becoming a gun owner isn’t going to change that.

Hell Antifa and other liberal groups are gunning up.

Sig2392: You may be conflating groups* which are enemies of the United States, and those who's beliefs are in accord with the USCON.

Communists and Jihadis comprise a statistically significant portion of those groups.

I've taught Democrats to shoot - and moderate Muslims - and would be happy to do so again.

But, I wouldn't teach a member of Antifa, or Hamas.

If I sold guns and/or ammunition, or just did FFL transfers, I would require a prospective customer to show some kind of proof they did not support the Democrat party - something like an RNC card or registration in the Republican party. Yes, they could be disingenuous with these and still vote Democrat, but they'd have to pay to be a member of the RNC. No way would I sell to a person who supports a party that wants to take away our rights.

If I owned a gun store, I’d take a somewhat different approach; I’d have a sign up saying “If you aren’t a staunch, rabid supporter of America and the 2nd amendment, you’re not welcome in this store”. And underneath that have a printed copy of the 2nd.

...and many here would walk out of your business. You would not sell much ammunition or firearms.

I am very conservative, always have been and I vote for candidates that I think will do the best job representing me (sometimes it has come to voting for who I think will do the least damage).

I do not have a RNC card and am not registered with the Republican Party, never will be.
