That’s especially true if you are not a cash buyer. Interest rates are worse on a used car as well. |

| Some new deals have been better than used.
Bought a couple of cars new at the end of the selling year when dealers need to dump inventory for new cars coming in.
The cost of the new car was almost the same as used with better financing.
You have to run the numbers.
I keep cars for about ten years or more.
You have to run the numbers and figure the total cost of ownership, not just the purchase price for comparison. |

| I only bought one new, in 2017 and realized my mistake after. Took 3 years and a lot of sacrifice to pay it off.

| I'm 56 and have personally never bought a new car. We did buy a new one for my wife about 12 years ago with cash, which we are still driving. We have never had a car payment. |

| I have owned a number of cars over the years, but never a brand new one. Some that I have purchased were very low mileage (4K, 9K, 28K, etc.) but never a brand new one. Perhaps I will, but I wouldn't bet on it. I have never bought a car on time, always paid cash. |

| The only used car I've ever bought was a very old one when in Hawaii in the Navy. Bought a few for my kids. I like the idea that it's only my farts in that cushion.

Back, and to the left
| Never really thought about it much, but I had one new car. I got it mid year 1982 and sold it 21 years later. I turned 60 in June and have owned 4 cars (including the current one) and 5 motorcycles. Only one was a street bike (I still have it) and it was the only used one of all 5 bikes. |
