petrThe Half Ashed Cigar Lounge - and sticks with protection.
Well there were not many to choose from, so I asked the kids "1" or "2". Number 1 was chosen so, Ronin, you are the recipient of the Montecristo punch cutter! Drop me an email with your mailing address and I'll get it to you as soon as I can.

LeemurI've stayed out of cigar karmas after winning the one from goatboyz. Felt that doing otherwise would be a shade greedy.
I'm enjoying a Ramon Bueso Genesis habano toro right now. It was part of the CI sampler I got a couple weeks ago. Excellent all around! Burn, construction, flavor are better than many far more expensive sticks. It's my first of this brand and has me wishing I'd tried them sooner.

petrTonight in preparation of the Penguins hockey season starting, I am smoking something new to me. An El Primer Mundo rosado oscuro. It's box pressed and isn't bad. I had a harsh spot in the beginning, but it's coming around quite nicely. Earthy, coffee notes are present.

petrI'm not sure if this was posted here before or not, but you can spend hours watching his reviews.
http://cigarobsession.com/cigar-reviews/I just watched his review of the El Primer Mundo rosado oscuro and it is quite accurate. This cigar is very good for those that have not had one before, I recommend it! It's a cross between a Fuente and a Padron I would say, maybe even Pepin in there too.

goatboyzRonin, that is quite the cigar bar! My local B&M is in a desperate need of an update. I think it's about half the size of what your picture shows too.

petrThat is a nice looking lounge there.
In celebration of my birthday yesterday, I went up to CI with a friend. I smoked a The King is Dead. It was a very smooth, creamy cigar with a hint of pepper. It reminded me quite a lot of the CLE Cuarrenta that sells for half the price. I guess I'll save some money and snag some more CLE's!

Ronin1069What a disapointing cigar morning, a few pages back I posted about my enjoyment smoking an infused Tabak Especial with my coffee - not today. I got about a 1/4 into it tossed it - no flavor what so ever - and I just went out and bought this one.
Wonder what happened?

mkuefferRonin,
I know that you mentioned that in a personal humidor infused cigars will bleed into others, does that happen the other was around? Wondering if at the store they cross infuse while in their large humidor?
Nubie question: Do shops close up all their boxes at night when they close to avoid cross infusion?
A few Sigs and some others October 10, 2015, 06:51 AM
Ronin1069They keep their infused sticks in a seperate humidor, going so far as to keep the dreaded Acids away from them - I'm staying with a friend, and his coffee is WEAK - so maybe that is part of the problem. I'll give it another chance next weekend.

P-220Thank you again to Jeff. This is my second Cuban cigar from the care package he sent. It has been in the humidor for a few weeks and it was AMAZING. I think I like this even more than the Ramon Allones that I smoked a couple of weeks ago.
I will continue to post pics, as I smoke Jeff's most generous care package.
To me, this had a much more full body, a little heavier than the last. Still not too heavy and one I will search for in the future.
Thanks again Jeff.

Appliance BradE.P. Carrillo Obscuro tonight at the backyard fire pit. Paired it with my last New Glarus Moon Man from the WI shoot.
I had tried a E.P. Stunner earlier this summer. That is a beast of a cigar. The Obscuro was wonderful. I'm not much good at getting "flavors" from a stick but the Obscuro started out with a hint of coffee. Nice even burn, no touch ups or relights needed. Mid stick there was a hint of black raspberry and when it was down to the nub a wonderful aftertaste of Cuban coffee. Great cigar, I have to get back to my shop for more of them. Definitely one you need to try out.

petrGator, Thank you.
After work today, we went to a birthday party for my nephew. I took along a few La Gloria Cubana's and smoked 2 of them tonight.
Those Cubans look great!

goatboyzWorked with my father yesterday to help him change the shocks on his Yukon yesterday.. During the day, we smoked a couple of "shop gars". We started with a Tabacos Baez SF Robusto from My Father. I'm not sure the price point on it, but it was a good work stick and the construction and burn were flawless. I would say it's similar to the Schizo.
We then smoked a Room 101 305. This is a decent cigar that while it can be a bit one dimensional it is always good. Another good medium shop gar.
We finished the evening with a CAO Pilon corona. I've never had one of these before, and it's the first CAO I've had (other than a Flathead). The burn and construction was great, and it produced a ton of smoke. Lots of flavor despite being a medium cigar. Notes of leather, white pepper, and clean tobacco.
I think I'm going to smoke a Luchador this afternoon while mowing the lawn... Happy smoking brothers!

petrWow Goat, I'm surprised you had any taste buds left to be able to pick up flavors after those sticks! Similar to the Schizo huh? I'll have to look into them.
After making a huge lunch, more like supper, today. Pork chops with a rub on them, Caesar salad, peas, and jalapeño poppers, I started doing some odds and ends around here. I lit a Viaje Summerfest that has been sitting in the humidor for 3 months. I stopped working as this one is much better than the one I had 3 months ago. So, I am sitting on the deck enjoying this 64* cloudless day! For now...

petrAbout double the price of the Schizo, but they are from My Father so they may have more pepper to them than the Schizo too.
October 11, 2015, 02:21 PM
goatboyzPetr, I would say it defiantly had more pepper than the Schizo.. Have you had the maduro Schizo yet? I saw they are about the same price, and I was thinking I may pick some up next time I place an order.. Our day was about 14 hours long (with the two work gars being in the morning, and the Pilon being around 2000-2100 at night) so they didn't really get smoked too close together..
I forgot we smoked a R&J aging room after lunch. We all really liked it (despite it being a Dominican puro). Leather, spice, and an earthiness that I really only find in a Dominican cigar. I really tend to drift to the Nicaraguan cigars..
