All in one night? Already a 3+ hour movie, with commercials it must be running 5 or more hours by now. I have a vague (and possibly faulty) recollection of the network splitting it up over two nights.

The original 1980s Night Court had a running gag with Bull the bailiff and his annual Ten Commandments ritual.

Well, it's nearly 4 hours without commercials. Taking into account the amount of commercials network TV packs in to their shows, and doing a bit of math, I figure you might get done just in time for breakfast tomorrow.

Maybe it's not too late to pay YouTube $2.99 to speed it up a little bit.

I found it a little amusing that the opening credits thanked everybody under the sun, museums, rabbis, all kinds of organizations, etc...but didn't mention the authors of the Old Testament.

(I'm at the burning bush right now, not sure I'll make it, this is a marathon not a 5K.)

Should complain about this humor, except I tend to do the same thing.

Well, Moses and the Levites putting the sword to the worshippers of the golden calf is about my favorite episode of the Old Testament. And an example of the first order. Unfortunately, as happens too often, the movie deviated from the written word.

An Israeli soldier was sitting outside in the rain while fighting in Gaza.

His rabbi heard him say “MOSES WAS A JERK!”

Aghast he relied “WHAT! He was the savior of our people. Freed us from bondage in Egypt. Brought us the word of God! How can you say Moses was a jerk?”

The soldier replied “If he’d turned right instead of left, we’d have the oil.”
