hjs157's example is right except they don't tax the shipping fee. Move the shipping fee down 2 places (below the sales tax) and the numbers should match up.
I just purchased an item through GB (PA resident buyer + PA FFL dealer seller) and I'm certain the shipping
was subject to sales tax. Since I'm planning to pick the item up in person tomorrow (intra-state sale), the seller apologetically informed me that while they are able to subtract the shipping charge from my total, they are unable to credit me for the PA state sales tax on the shipping which is automatically included in their auction fees as calculated by the GB invoicing system. Per your post, I now suspect in some states shipping is a taxable item while in other states it is not. This would explain the discrepancy between the $1203.50 total in my example vs. the $1202.00 in the OP's example. Thanks for the clarification!
