It's temporary home on our kitchen counter Already ran out of the green PLA starter and a good bit of the orange. Been in 'print everything' mode, as evidenced by the stuff on top of it.
Made this AAA battery magazine. We'll see how long the printed spring lasts Ran out of green toward the end & had to swap to the orange spool.

Yeah, opening this thread is gonna cost me. Gonna go ahead and order the P2S Combo for wife/I. My daughter and fiancé have the P1P and do cosplay so they print quite a bit and since I was in looking around, I decided I should order them the AMS Pro upgrade.

When you start buying filament (from Bambu) you can buy it without the spool, reuse your previous ones, and save a couple of bucks. If you elect to go that way, DO make sure the spool is "clicked" together completely after putting a bundle on it and before removing the clear "straps."

This, and you can print spools, the files are on makerworld. I'll double making sure the spool is closed correctly before pulling the tabs. I have a spool of white here that's a great example of doing it incorrectly.

I've seen the warnings about not releasing the tabs prematurely. I figure with the 3 [2 spooled, 1 loose] I ordered [with a Bambu credit code] I gained 2 spools, so I'll have 5 now. Also got their Maker's Kit [99% off with a beginner code], we'll see if there's anything good in there.

When I started last fall (purchased a Centauri Carbon) I was buying spools 1 or 2 at a time. I have just over 1200 hours on the printer now (mostly functional items) and buy multipacks of filament. A KG goes amazingly fast! Pretty soon you'll have 15-20 spools sitting around with different colors, different material etc. My favorite is PETG-CF - mostly for the look of the finished parts.

Congrats, not much I can add, but I really like PETG. It's as easy to use as PLA but a lot stronger, it's great general purpose stuff.
I really enjoy designing stuff in fusion360 and then watching it materialize into something I can hold. Not that my designs are anything special, crap like braces, hinges, small boxes and whatnot. I really want to up my game on 3D design, I find it very satisfying.

This is my next step, learning to design my own stuff. Got a spare laptop from work, we'll see if it's up to running something like Fusion.

Fusion is web based, which is really annoying because it doesnt work offline, but you dont need a fantastic PC because of that. I do a lot with an old mac laptop. They will try to get you to buy a licence but the free version can still be very powerful.
Youtube has some great walkthroughs. The videos can be long but if you follow along you can start making stuff right away.

Thanks, good to know. I got a 32" tv from a coworker, may run that as an external display for something like Fusion

AMS users, what desiccant are you using in yours? Seeing a lot of options for desiccant boxes & a hygrometer mount. Given how humid Houston is, how necessary is moisture control with PLA & PETG?

Looks like SF is costing me more money!
I’m thinking “buy once, cry once” and going with the P2S out of the gate. Seems to get good reviews and is highly capable. Is it best to buy from Bambi direct or are there other sources?
Best price/dealer for filament?
