JumboPersonally, I prefer a Cadbury fruit and nut bar. I do notice a difference between the two, I prefer the taste of the bar.
Calmer than you are

PerceptionI think they're both different, but both bottom of the barrel chocolate so I don't buy either.
"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in." December 10, 2025, 08:12 AM
83v45magnaWhen I was a kid, Hershey's was good. They have sucked since the the early eighties.
I was amazed at how much better chocolate was in Germany. Mind you, this is chocolate from their version of convenience stores and gas station stores.

egregoreI seem to recall the Kisses not being quite as sweet-tasting as the candy bars. Pure chocolate has an almost bitter taste, only tasting sweet after being loaded with sugar.

BigSwedeI only buy their nuggets, dark with almonds and milk with toffee and almonds

flesheatingvirusI will eat the shit out of some Hershey's, but in reality, they are a poor excuse for chocolate. When I was in the UK, I noticed they couldn't legally be labeled as "chocolate". They are labeled as "chocolate flavored". I would pay more if they would put in more of the real deal. It's hard for them to stack up to some of the other brands.

Fly-SigHersheys is the only gluten-free reasonably priced chocolate, so we always have either kisses or mini-bars on hand. They definitely taste different from each other!
I'd buy better chocolate if I could trust it not to ruin the next 3 days and didn't cost a crazy a,ount.

synthplayerI pop the kisses in the ice box. Ice chocolate.
I found what you said riveting. December 10, 2025, 09:59 AM
PASigIf you want some good chocolate that won't cost an arm and a leg and also not taste like mud like Hershey's now tastes to me, head over to Aldi. They have some very good German made chocolate that is way better than Hershey's

GT-40DOCI usually buy just the Hershey's Nuggets and keep them in the freezer. Dark chocolate is my favorite.

MelissaDallasSome years ago Hershey’s cheaped out and reduced or removed the cocoa butter from many of their products and subbed vegetable oils, so it changed the melting point and mouth-feel and taste. Supposedly Kisses and plain bars are still pretty close to the original. The worst part of their acquisition of Cadbury was that they blocked import of real English Cadbury to the US and subbed their dumbed down US variations.

wrightdHershey chocolate is cheap because it's cheap. But you can't buy good chocolate anywhere. I like it because it's mostly the only chocolate I've ever had.

downtownvBoth Hershey's and M&M Mars. Have followed the path of corporate greed. They cut corners to cut cost, increase margins and screw the customers. Particular Reeses is one of the worst things you could be eating from a health standpoint.

bendableCostco had girredelli squares on sale so I got a bag.
Yeah they are very good, and there is an assortment.

But,
For the price difference,
Hershey's is still not out of any race.
