We're looking at a 28 cu ft Whirlpool and the interior is much different than my 16 year old Whirlpool Gold. My wife is fussy and she pointed out the shelving was not as good and I noticed the fridge door storage was "cheaper". I don't remember that "Gold" was an upgrade but I can certainly notice the difference. We may end up with this one but we're still looking.

Turns out the Bosch my wife was looking at was 22 cu ft, I don't think that's adequate, especially after V-Tails post.

Here's what Appliance Brad says, which is repeated in just about every thread about fridges:

My appliance repairman said the same and to shop price. His shop price comment based on my desire for a durable, basic fridge. I don't need bluetooth, see-through doors, or 4 different ice options so he might have a different opinion about high-end models.

Loved my Whirlpool: French doors, nice lighting, glass shelves, middle produce drawer, lower freezer.

Better organization options in the freezer would have been nice though.

I think it was this one

Just replaced a KitchenAid with another KitchenAid. Waited a month for delivery and only came in stainless. Didn’t even think about other brands.

Thanks for all the replies, helped a lot. My wife went to a smaller, contractor/design store and decided on a Frigidaire Gallery, French Door, 26.8 cu ft. She felt comfortable with the information they gave her and had references from others. Happy wife, happy life!!

Update: wife decided on the same size, same make but the standard, not Gallery model.
