I like your bike, always liked that model.

Have fun !

Nice motorcycle Nframe congratulations! A great all around motorcycle and even better since FI.

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Keep an ear out for chain rattle in the left engine case adjusting the counterbalancer chain tensioning system ("doohickey") won't resolve. Likely a sign of a weak adjustment spring, which has been a thing in these since 2008. Mine ran out of tension around 6,000 miles.

The great news is this is a well known, cheap, easy fix, and can be done concurrent with an oil change since you'll have to pull the left engine case, which is surprisingly really easy.

Happy new bike day!

Thanks Sandman, I've heard some things on this and figured with all the bikes and info out there I should be able to keep the bike going.

It is interesting that the new Honda XR650l is right at the same price as the KLR. It is a very proven platform as well.

I imagine Suzuki's DR650 as well but neither come stock with what the KLR does, luggage rack, skid plate, 6 gallon tank, decent seat, and now FI.

I like the look of that one, more than the new ones actually. Thanks Norman. Great pix. Wink

Unless over seven feet tall. Height is not an issue on the KLR or XR650L Wink

How did it do?
You need to strap something on the back. A cooler at least Wink

The ride was great! I just picked up a new wind screen to push the air up over my helmet. The rear rack should have an expandable case on it tomorrow. I'm still debating what side cases to get, if any. This bike is big with out those.

I always wondered if it would be better with a bigger front tire. Seem's like it would. Tusk maybe for saddle bags?

I've seen those offering as well as others. I'm watching what others get on some of the KLR forums etc.
keep the ideas coming.
