You're going to feel a little pressure... |
Hey all- The Democrats are seeming like they are dropping the mask and running hard Left. Living in a red state that has gone solidly blue, I am looking to bone up on the Democrat playbook, so I can better recognize their agenda, when they try to sneak it in. What books do you recommend? I know "Rules for Radicals" is what passes for a Bible, to many of them. What else can I read to know how these bastards connive to subvert our republic? Bruce "The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. 'Make it evil,' he'd been told. 'Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams “It is just as difficult and dangerous to try to free a people that wants to remain servile as it is to try to enslave a people that wants to remain free." -Niccolo Machiavelli The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all. -Mencken

Just break out “Communist Manifesto” by Engels and Marx. That should do it! But these days it’s both the Dems and many Republicans that are trying (nyet, have already) installed most of it’s planks. I, for one, am going to start actually calling them for what they are — Communists! To whomever it may apply. Say it loud enough, long enough, and people begin to, if not believe, at least take a closer look into them. But more than half of our population have the intellectual curiosities of stone and the educational level of thrips, so this job is becoming much more difficult.

Just listen to NPR in the car. They will tell you everything you need to know, and it will be current, well presented, and seem eminently reasonable. You'll also go hoarse screaming at your radio, but that's an entirely other problem. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation." Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.

That's for sure. I've been an NPR listener for 25 years, but in the past few they have developed an overt left-wing bias along with an obsession for Washington beltway politics. The reputation they earned over the years for in-depth coverage of a variety of interesting topics is being pissed away by their obsession with Congress and the White House. They really should change the name to National Political Radio, because that's what it's become.

It might be, but boy, Salt Lake City is a leftist city. Not one Republican mayor for over 30 years. The current one is a gay Democrat woman who ran on the issue of climate change. But as far as the OPs question, I don't think one needs a book to read these commies. My method is to just not trust ANY of them. The more difficult one is to figure out the leftists in the Republican Party. "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

I have been with NPR forever and what you say is quite true. I am not totally willing to give it up because some of the shows such as the Gestalt Gardener have no ideaological rhetoric. Some of the liberals love to use the latest buzzwords and have a nasal tone to their voice making them very annoying. At least they dont scream.

Some of Abbey Hoffman's crap enlightened me as a yute. I believe Cliven-Ploward published a treatise as well.

Perhaps a re-reading of Aldous Huxley's 1932 classic "Brave New World" is in order? Huxley wrote of a drug, Soma, which has "all the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their defects." Modern day Soma is now the media, and to a lesser extent, the Internet (and they are trying, make no mistake). Like automatons, the public when not working, spends most of the time gazing into a screen, be it wall-sized or pocket-sized. Critical thinking is gone. The enemy is no longer afraid to couch their aims because the public no longer cares. Just don't take away their Soma. You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless. NRA Benefactor/Patriot Member

Three quarters (or more) of the voting public cannot identify the three branches of Government. They cannot tell you what the first ten amendments are called. They cannot even identify the five rights enumerated in the First Amendment. History was made when the youngest woman ever was elected to Congress. Never mind the fact that same Congresswoman (elect) just last week thought she would be inaugurated and be signing Bills into Law. More and more we live in an idiocracy and politics is treated as a sporting event by an increasingly ignorant and stupid electorate easily manipulated by a corrupt ruling class. Clean those rifles if you haven’t already. Keep ‘em clean.

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli. |
It’s simple. You work and they don’t. But they still want everything you have. Like a bad marriage. There are various stats out there but I think over half of Americans now get some sort of public assistance whether it be welfare, SNAP, Section 8, etc. No way are these people going to vote for someone on the right. WSJ is reporting that Hillary will run again. Unfortunately, the GOP chose not to investigate so these Democrats become embolden; Gillum, Snipes, Wasserman, and the whole Clinton staff. It’s going to get worse before it gets better. Rant off

Study the Bolshevik Revolution, the rise of Mussolini's Fascist Party, Castro's revolution, the NAZI party's rise to power, Mao's revolution, etc. That should be a good primer.

Michael Walsh is a conservative; he wrote (using his fictional radical alter ego name David Kahane) Rules for Conservative Radicals. Amazon link It’s an amusing wink-wink laying out of what the left does and how conservatives can combat it. I recommend it. _________________________ “ What all the wise men promised has not happened, and what all the damned fools said would happen has come to pass.”— Lord Melbourne
