Not saying it's aliens but...

My laptop's keyboard has the letters worn off six or seven keys. And half of those sometimes do not respond. So I may start typing and end up with gibberish.

Maybe a stiff vodka tonic and a nap would clear things up? Don't forget to rim the glass with fresh lime.

I don't have that problem when using an actual keyboard, but I do experience it when typing on the screen of a tablet or phone.

Happens to me all the time.
I chalk it up to either just thinking and not typing or some auto-correct when I save.
I have went back and corrected many times.
Sometimes an omission will completely change the meaning of the phrase.
No you are not alone. Frown
Thankfully, THIS forum interface will allow you to go back in for a while and edit without tagging you as an idiot (saying this was edited) immediately. Smile

It's not just you, Q.

Rare is the post I make that I don't have to immediately edit, in order to correct a typo, spelling error, or word omission.
I ALWAYS review my posts immediately to see what I screwed up this time! Wink

I'm right there with ya.

I need to re-read emails, text messages, forum posts, etc, at least a few times to make sure I haven't zipped through a message and left out some words.

That would seem to be the answer.
But I will admit that although I draft most posts of more than a sentence or two in Word, I am constantly amazed by how many mistakes I don't discover until after I've posted them.

“ Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one’s own understanding without another’s guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one’s own mind without another’s guidance.”
