prayers for father. Updated 6-22 Login/Join
Don't burn
the day away
posted
I meant to post this yesterday but could not due to the hospitals internet “weapons” policy. Wasn’t on their wifi but I guess that doesn’t matter.

I`m asking for prayers for my father, he’s currently enduring his 2nd 8 plus hour surgery in the last 2 weeks today to try and fix his “Straight back” syndrome.

He had a lumbar fusion 18 years ago and over the last 5 years he`s slowly but surely being forced to lean forward. The fusion took away his lordosis and it’s gotten to the point where his lungs and diaphragm are being compromised.

Surgery one was 2 weeks ago and it did about 60% of the job, the surgeon is basically removing the entire fusion and rebuilding it by going down into his S spine and up into his T spine and adding notches to straighten him out.

My father is an Air-force, NY State Trooper and NYPD veteran, 76 years old and faces and long difficult rehab and recovery to get some of his function and life back.

I will see the surgeon today and get an update on results.

Thank you all.

6/9 update: Rough night, cannot sleep or stand up due to pain and weakness in his legs, Docs concerned about elevated Troponin levels(Heart), he’s had 2 heart attacks and multiple heart procedures in the past

6-17 update

Dad had a heart attack at the rehab facility and is currently being evaluated at Boston Hospital. I fear the 2 surgery’s he had have taken a huge toll on him.

Lots of prayers sent. As a number of us personally know, spinal surgery is extremely tricky.

Prayers sent, Brother.

Two things bring me to tears. The unconditional Love of God,the service of the United States Military, past, present, and future.
