Re-read many of the old threads about mens' underwear preferences. Various materials were cited as major significant alternatives to old school cotton.

These have caught my attention.
The DAVID ARCHY Mens Underwear Bamboo Rayon Boxer Briefs Breathable and Soft with Fly (5.5" inseam - 4 pack) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018KBX2IM/ref

Anyone have experience with these?

As an aside I have had Ex Officio travel briefs for years. The hype is real. Smile

No direct experience with that specific brand, but I can tell you Rayon is a great fabric. Unlike cotton, it resists absorbing odors, so stays fresh much longer. Also nice and smooth to your skin. I like to use Rayon bedsheets as well.

One note, it's not fibers of bamboo woven into fabric. Resin is extracted from the bamboo, then extruded into useable threads and woven into a synthetic cloth. You can also manufacture the resin chemically with the same results, but then you can't call it "bamboo". Despite this mild deception, it's still a great material.

I tried some of the bamboo underwear. It was comfy, but didn’t last long. Material got thin pretty quickly and started getting holes after about a year.

Don’t know about bamboo, but I also wore Ex Officio for years (and agree with you!), but switched a while back to Duluth Trading’s Armachillo line and find them to be almost just as good, but at a much better price when on sale.

That might be the only downside. Rayon is not considered a very durable fabric compared to alternatives. However, I have not personally had any problems in that regard. Have been using the same Rayon sheets for many years now.

Don't have briefs, but love bamboo sheets.

Appreciate all the responses. Durability might be an issue but I'm not all that hard on such garments in my twilight years. So I ordered the David Archy 4-pack and will see if they prove to be a prudent choice. Smile

Yeah, the fabric is pretty comfortable but as mentioned, not really durable.

Used to use swaddling cloths made from bamboo for my kid when he was a baby. Loved it.

Have a couple pairs of Bamboo Socks - They take much longer to dry in the dryer. My wife and I both love the comfort and how easy they are to put on. Kinda like a Foot shaped Sock shoe. Our dog snagged one during our evening sock removal ritual. Haven't found any more as we want more.

I have lots of underwear from the David Archy brand, probably the majority of it.

And I just checked my past Amazon orders, and some of them are "Bamboo Rayon", theirs and other brands. (who knew)

I like em and keep buying more.
