Oh. Maybe they want to ruin Ruger as well?

Not that the current organization isn't screwed up enough.

So what's the beef with those two makers, and will this redistribution of equity screw things up further or help one or the other.

Well that explains the new Jaguar 22 being a Ruger Mark IV clone.
Beretta didn’t really hide it but didn’t actively promote it at the last Shot Show.

The Beretta Group gets larger.

Interesting move.

Bearing in mind that Beretta is the oldest current gun manufacturer, with some iconic designs, and Ruger is known for making something in every category and will most likely still fire if the barrel is plugged with J-B Weld.

Could be some cool stuff in the works.

I'm optimistic the venture will bring us good things.

I wonder if Ruger's recent purchase of Anderson is an ingredient in this recipe, too.

Now if only one of them could buy Remington's Shotgun division and start producing 1100's again... :/

I'm not as enthusiastic as some about this turn of events. I think this may be a prelude to some strong arming of Ruger by Beretta, regarding what Ruger makes, where Ruger sells and how their system of production and distribution works. A competing company doesn't just spend $46 million to be able to get a copy of the Board notes. Beretta is an older, larger, deeper pocket company with a habit of taking control of its competition. Ruger should be very vary about all this...

Ruger is publicly traded. Ultimately it comes down to shareholders. RGR has been sliding down for the last four plus years from a high of $80ish. We”ll see. To me it looks like an eventual buyout.

Ruger just bought Anderson so it may be for their increased machining capabilities.
