Staring back from the abyss |
Good for them. Unfortunately, it's not coming from the top. It ain't going to stop until there's push back. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ne...hurches-schools.html The Diocese of Des Moines in Iowa has been praised for leading the war on woke has by banning preferred pronouns in schools and parishes, and ruling that students and worshipers must use the bathrooms and locker rooms of their biological sex. The new stipulations from The Diocese of Des Moines went into effect on Monday, and all revolve around how the religious organization deals with gender at its 17 schools and 80 parishes across the state. While some activists complained, many in Iowa hailed the decision as a long overdue crackdown. Their comments echoed those of parents across the country, who have protested rapidly changing trans rules in public schools in various states. 'Finally, a church that is acting like a church,' said one admirer of the Diocese's decision. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Absolutely! Push back is necessary, both within the Church and within society at large. Here's more: Liberty and the ‘woke’ By William Manning The American people are enduring a relentless woke oppression provoked by liberal elites and delivered by the Democrat Party. This woke assault is eroding bedrock concepts of western culture. The woke movement has blurred cultural norms and actively works to instill the perception that disagreement with their narrative is an exhibition of bigotry. They use the nexus of government and media to oppress freedom of thought, restricting liberty. The keystone of American governance is liberty. America’s founding document declares liberty to be an unalienable right provided by our Creator. For government to suggest that personal thoughts and expressions must be altered to parrot what government purports to be correct is un-American. Political factions enjoy the liberty to persuade the public to accept their ideas. They collect and spend great sums of money to accomplish this. It is incumbent upon the American people to understand these ideas and accept or reject them based on their merit. Political factions have no right or authority to use the government as a tool to create and disseminate propaganda to promote their ideas. Nevertheless, that’s exactly what’s happening today. https://www.americanthinker.co...ty_and_the_woke.html "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

When you stop listening to the Bible and start listening to the crowd - there is going to be problems. It's nice when you get back to basics of truth.

My initial reaction was to just wait for the lawsuits to fly. But in point of fact, "woke" parents are probably not sending their "non-binary" elementary school age children to Catholic school. So from that standpoint, they're almost literally preaching to the choir. The question is will outsiders / troublemakers try to get involved.

Good for Iowa, may this spread wider and fast. Churches need to be churches, we have enough secular life outside the church walls.

Oh they already are. The screams of, "Church and State!!!" and "You're driving kids to suicide!!!" have already begun. I'm just waiting for Bergoglio to laicize the good Bishop for doing the right thing. Seems he's got a habit of doing just that. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

"Local LGBTQ+ leaders and other faith leaders have condemned the diocese for its newest rules, calling them hateful and harmful, especially toward transgender Iowans. "Policies such as not allowing someone to use the pronoun for which they identify, restricting access to bathrooms based on the sex at birth rather than a person’s gender identity, and not allowing physician-prescribed medication is simply wrong," Connie Ryan, executive director of the nonprofit Interfaith Alliance of Iowa, said in a statement earlier this month..." I think Transgenderism is wrong. Giving in to it is wrong. Allowing a very small minority of confused people to control behavior of the vast majority is wrong. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth
