I remember going over to the Young Turks web site election nite, and watch them sink in disbelief every hour as the results came in and Trump was winning. Their distress was fun to watch. I think it's valid to tell someone to "look it up" or "google it" when the statement is axiomatic or very basic that you're not going to waste your time to try to educate someone who is arguing with you who won't take your word.
